Height is also important for those who want to start a modeling career. Models are normally taller than 5’7” and quite thin unless you’re seeking a career as a plus-size model.

Fashion Model

Fashion models should consider having a professional portfolio designed. The portfolio should hold the best photos in your collection. Locate modeling agencies in your area to contact and setup appointments. Once you have a set schedule dress yourself in something simple like jeans and a nice blouse to wear. Keep your face fresh with a moisturizer and free of makeup, with the exception of lip gloss. Agencies like to get a look at a clean face in order to make an assessment as to whether you would be an added benefit to the agency.

Lingerie Model

The most well-known lingerie models currently work or have worked for Victoria Secret. Assess your bodily attributes in order to determine if you’re fit enough to work as a lingerie model. Modeling Tips | Free Advice For Models

Our Top ten Modeling Tips for all of those aspiring models out there. 

#1: Out of all the modeling tips we will look at today, pay attention to this one… whatever you do, make sure that you are on time for every shot, show or appointment that you agree to being at.  It is crucial that you present yourself as a professional and professionals make sure they are on time.  It shows you are serious and not just playing around trying to be a model.  as far as modeling tips go, this one alone will allow you to stand out from the crowd of would be models.   

#2: Just like a good boy scout, always be prepared for anything.  Photographers are notorious for being spontaneous.  They are artists after all!  So be prepared.  Bring a few options for your wardrobe, don’t expect the agent of photographer to have everything that will be required for your shoot.

#3:  Along the same lines as the last 2 modeling tips, bring your make up with you.  Even if they tell you that there will be a make up artist there, you never know and  you always want to be prepared for the worst..

#4: Ask for references of the photographer.  You will want to call other models and agents that he/she has done work for.  Take nothing to chance.  The photographer will want to do the same for you. 


#5:  Be positive that you understand what type of shoot it is before you show up.  Be sure that you know what is expected of you before agreeing to it.  Do not be pressured in to any type of shoot or work that you are not comfortable with.  There is lots of opportunities as a model.  Stick to the type of work you want to do.   Out of all the modeling tips you will ever come across this one will keep you true to yourself.

#6.  Make sure in advance that you understand the working arrangement as far as expenses and such go.  Who is paying for your travel, lodging and food, etc.  Are you expected to pay upfront and then be reimbursed or are they footing the bill right out of the gates.

#7: When you are searching for an agent, take your time.  Do not rush.  Do not simply settle with the first modeling agent you come across.  Do your home work, speak with some of their clients and make sure you understand the type and amount of work they will be able to get for you.  (nothing wrong with asking other models when you are speaking with them for some of their best modeling tips also!!)


#8: When searching for an agent have your portfolio already together.  There is a good chance that they will make adjustments to it, but that is ok.  By having the portfolio ready to go in advance, you are showing them you are serious and you may also give them some ideas to what your look is in advance to them signing you.

#9: Out of all the modeling tips, this one will make and break your career.  Don’t quit!  Stay committed, work hard and do not give yup.  If you want this career you can get it, but it will take time and effort!

Welcome to this site.  You have found us as you are obviously searching for tips and help on how to become a model.  We have put this web site together to show you the path you can take to start making that dream come true for you.

Like anything else worthwhile in life, becoming a model will take time, energy and dedication.  But it is very do able, many people have created very nice incomes and careers as models and there is no reason why you can not either.

A word of warning however, do not think this will happen over night, it will not.  It is very rare that someone is just found, so to speak.  The people who appear to be over night success stories have actually been doing this and practicing their art for a very long time.
